This report describes a number of quantitative risk assessments applied to three diverse fairground ride types in order to provide an indication of appropriate Safety Integrity Levels for these generic types of ride and to illustrate an approach that may be used to determine these SILs.

A fairground ride operator from Hampshire has been fined for safety failings after two members of the public fell from a ride at Andover Carnival.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has today informed Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd that it will be prosecuted over an incident in which five people were seriously injured on a rollercoaster ride at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.
