Update to L23 – Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 – Guidance on Regulations

The publication has been restructured into four parts, with the regulations and brief guidance in Part 1 and more detailed guidance to help carry out risk assessments and control risks in Parts 2-4. It explains how to avoid, assess and reduce the risk of injury from manual handling.

This revised guidance is aimed at directors, owners, managers and supervisors and pays particular attention to the most common hazards, including (un)loading of delivery vehicles, storage systems, workplace transport, mechanical lifting and injuries from sharp edges.

L65 – Prevention of fire and explosion, and emergency response on offshore installations: Approved Code of Practice and guidance (Third edition)

This Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and associated guidance provides practical advice on how you can comply with the requirements of the regulations. It provides guidance to those who own, operate or work on offshore installations and looks at how to prevent fires and explosions as well as how to protect people should they occur.

L123 – Health care and first aid on offshore installations and pipeline works: Approved Code of Practice and guidance (Third edition)

This Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and associated guidance provides practical advice on how you can comply with the requirements of the regulations. The ACOP covers the provision of adequate first aid and basic health care for all personnel, including visitors, who are injured or become ill while on offshore installations.

MS38 – Offshore first-aid qualifications: A guide for training organisations approved under the Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First-Aid) Regulations 1989

This guidance explains how to gain and maintain approval to run offshore first-aid (OFA) courses and will help new and existing training providers develop and maintain appropriate standards of OFA training. The guidance has been revised to reflect changes to the ACOP.

L154 – The Offshore Installations (Offshore Safety Directive) (Safety Case etc) Regulations 2015: Guidance on Regulations

This guidance is for anyone who has duties under the Offshore Installations (Offshore Safety Directive) (Safety Case etc) Regulations 2015 (SCR 2015), for example licensees, production installation operators, non-production installation owners and well operators. It provides advice and explains the regulatory requirements to those who may be affected by SCR 2015.
